MARKET COMMENTARY for Tuesday, 12 September 2017
Nifty ended above the important mark of 10,000 for the first time after August 7, 2017. Nifty closed at
10,006 level, up by 71 points, while Sensex closed at 31,882 level, up by 194 points.
Bank Nifty ended at 24,672 level, up by 301 points or 1.24%. IndusInd Bank was the top gainer in the
index closed at Rs 1,790 per share, up by Rs 94.1 per share or 5.55%. Bharat Financial Inclusion, on
Monday, informed the stock exchanges that it has entered into exclusive talks with IndusInd Bank Ltd.
to explore a merger between the two.
BSE Capital Goods was the top gaining index, which closed at 18,113 level, up by 2.6%. Siemens was
the top gainer on the index ending at Rs 1,335 per share, up by 4.14%. BSE Telecom was the top losing
index, closing at 1,372 level, down by 0.24%.
Private bank stocks like IndusInd Bank, Yes Bank and HDFC bank were the top contributors to the gains
of major indices, Nifty and Sensex.
