MARKET COMMENTARY For Thursday,23 November 2017
The Nifty rose 15.40 points or 0.15% to settle at 10,342.30, its highest closing level since 7 November 2017. The index gained 41.80 points or 0.4% at the day’s high of 10,368.70. The index shed 17.35 points or 0.17% at the day’s low of 10,309.55.
The Sensex advanced 83.20 points or 0.25% to settle at 33,561.55, its highest closing level since 6 November 2017. The index gained 176.18 points, or 0.53%, at the day’s high of 33,654.53. The index fell 13.12 points, or 0.04%, at the day’s low of 33,465.23.
The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index declined 0.05%. The S&P BSE Small-Cap index rose 0.23%. Both the indices underperformed the Sensex.
The breadth, indicating the overall health of the market, was negative. On BSE, 1,391 shares fell and 1,306 shares rose. A total of 169 shares were unchanged.
Nifty likely to trade in the range of 10204-10462.
