MARKET COMMENTARY for Thursday,12 october 2017
Nifty 50 index fell 32.15 points or 0.32% to settle at 9,984.80, its lowest closing level since 6 October 2017. The Nifty fell 61.15 points, or 0.61% at the day’s low of 9,955.80 in mid-afternoon trade. The index rose 50.30 points, or 0.50% at the day’s high of 10,067.25 in mid-morning trade
Sensex fell 90.42 points or 0.28% to settle at 31,833.99, its lowest closing level since 6 October 2017. The Sensex fell 155.01 points, or 0.49% at the day’s low of 31,769.40 in mid-afternoon trade. The index rose 174.05 points, or 0.55% at the day’s high of 32,098.46 in morning trade.
BSE Mid-Cap index fell 0.82%. The BSE Small-Cap index fell 1.08%. The fall in both these indices was higher than the Sensex’s decline in percentage terms.
Most private bank stocks rose. Yes Bank (down 2.63%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 1.22%), HDFC Bank (down 0.68%), RBL Bank (down 1.41%), ICICI Bank (down 0.72%) and IndusInd Bank (down 0.39%) declined.
Nifty likely to trade in the range of 9668-10336.
